Julia Tiffin is the creator of ‘Drawing with Light’. She has a background in Fine Art, completing her BA(FA) degree in 1996 with a First Class Pass, Class Medal in Fine Art Photography and the Dean’s Merit List Award. She was part of a core team to establish The South African Centre for Photography and was the Head of Department of Fine Art Photography at the Durban Technical University whilst in her 20’s. During this time she also participated in the first comprehensive exhibition of African photographers & photographers in the diaspora that was held in The European Museum of Photography (Maison Européenne de la Photographie) in Paris. Her exhibition Skin was published in the Anthology of African and Indian Ocean Photography in 1999. Julia exhibited in solo and group shows until her early 30’s when she began deep training in the hidden mysteries.
Looking at artists such as Leonardo da Vinci, who was initiated into the ancient Hermetical teachings, and who was maximising his potential in fields of both art and science, Julia sought to understand the hidden knowledge about our existence in the Universe and what the true potential of humans really is.
Julia has trained for 14 years in a 3000 year old lineage held within The Modern Mystery School. This school is one of the seven ancient mystery schools whose existence has been hinted at in the hidden messages within the alchemical artworks of the Middle Ages, and the potential for man to lead a multi-dimensional life and attain true joy and fulfilment within. Today she is a Modern Mystery School Speciality Teacher and teaches around the world whilst continuing to understand the deeper mysteries of life.
Drawing with Light brings these two worlds together: the world of images and the world of magick, where artists can literally re-define the visual landscape of our times, and use art to redesign our future and the world we consciously create by choosing to re-frame the world we live in.
